Min Chiangchan

My work is involved with Art History, Absurdism and animals. I sketch, collage and paint with acrylic to ground my ideas. My process is through the use of col- lage, art history and animal images that I come across in order to touch on an absurdism and pluralism. I focus on producing realistic, believable results in my work. My paintings are inspired from Renaissance, Neoclassism and post- modernism period such as Michelangelo, Jacques – Lois David and Caravaggio etc. My theory painting with an absurd element called “after- life”, ques- tions if these animals were as elegant as humans. So, I collaged and combined animals with human gures for the viewers to question the nature of existing.
