I like to see the beauty in what surrounds me. This makes photography the perfect medium. I can see and instantly capture beauty, so that I may share what I see and how I see it. Utilizing a film photography medium, I am able to let go of the idea of “perfect” and rely on camera knowledge and experience to record images. In doing so, I can capture and accept the beauty and spontaneity of imperfections.
This is not to say that I have not utilised modern technology to correct colours or exposure and that I have never used photoshop to add my face to a pulp fiction poster, but there is a time and place for that. My goal is to not create a false history of images that never happened, but instead to spread the beauty and acceptance of a reality which we cannot change.
